Come learn about the latest child care data from The Children’s Cabinet’s recent market rate survey!  Participants will learn about the ways this info can be used to inform our elected officials about why child care is essential to the future of our state.

Look at how to recognize and handle respiratory emergencies and asthma.  This also includes working effectively with parents.  Learn when and how to safely give an EpiPen and how to include children with allergies in everyday curriculum and celebrations.

April 24th  TuesdayWhat to Do With the Mad That You Feel

This workshop explores anger, where it comes from and how young children can gradually learn the self-control necessary to manage their anger and channel it into productive activity.  This workshop will also suggest ways to intervene when children act out or lose control.

*It All Begins With Me – “Let’s Move Childcare” – Margaret Oberg    What is the provider’s role in preventing obesity?  Learn about guidelines for Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move Child Care”, the five main goals to “Healthy Kids, Healthy Future”, and why yu should participate.  Learn about being a healthy lifestyle role model.   There will be activities and handout of ideas to get us moving.

*Tax Class – Bill Goff    All your tax questions will be answered including what to claim, how to minimize income, what are the best computer tax programs, which taxes pertain to child care, and any new tax laws.

*Finding Your Smile Again and How to Overcome Burnout – Tammy Bock  Here are great ideas for effectively dealing with the “I need a career change” days.  Learn new ways to manage stress and discuss the importance of why it is necessary to take time out for you!

*Multicultural Awareness – How to Make all Families Feel Welcome – Margaret Oberg     How do you measure up in multicultural situations?  Learn ways to help children and parents from any culture feel welcome in your day care setting.

CPR & First aid classes are $25
CPR is a 2.5 hour class 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm
